Il concetto di status symbol è simile a quello italiano ed è generalmente rappresentato da abiti firmati (Armani, Valentino, Prada, Versace, Hugo Boss sono marche amatissime dai russi), ultimi modelli di telefono cellulare, ville sul Mediterraneo, gioielli e orologi di valore, macchine prestigiose, preferibilmente grandi e con il cambio automatico (in Russia piacciono molto i SUV della BMW, le Range Rover, l’americana Hammer e le Mercedes). Chi possiede molti soldi spesso ama esibire di fronte agli altri la propria ricchezza.
